Yilgarn Contracting was pivotal in preparing a new iron ore pit at Parker Range by executing clearing and topsoil stripping across 100 hectares.
Key Activities
Our responsibilities included not only the management and supervision of the project but also the provision of a well-maintained fleet of earthmoving equipment, skilled operators, and mobile plant maintenance facilities.
The critical activities we undertook were:
- Efficient clearing and grubbing of the site.
- Loading, hauling, and stockpiling vegetation to minimise environmental impact.
- Utilising dozers for the push-up of topsoil.
- Loading, hauling, and stockpiling topsoil to preserve it for future rehabilitation.
Achievements
A significant challenge of this project was the rapid mobilisation of plant and resources over the Christmas period to meet the client’s program requirements. Our team overcame this hurdle, demonstrating their capacity for swift and efficient resource allocation under tight timelines.
